STANFORD, Calif. – The Stanford softball team will play host to three local opponents as part of a six-game fall schedule, as announced Thursday by head coach John Rittman.
Stanford will open its fall slate Nov. 3 with a doubleheader against San Francisco State at Noon PT.
The Cardinal will play four games the following weekend, beginning with a doubleheader Nov. 9 at Noon against Sonoma State. Stanford will conclude its fall schedule with a Nov. 10 doubleheader against Santa Clara at 11 a.m.
Stanford is coming off a strong 2013 season, finishing with a 39-21 overall record – the 17th straight winning season under Rittman. The Cardinal placed fourth in the Pac-12 with a 13-11 mark, and was 26-10 against non-conference opponents.
Stanford was 20-6 at Smith Family Stadium and 12-5 in neutral site games in 2013. The Cardinal notched one of its most successful offensive seasons in program history and ended the year ranked No. 21/22 after reaching the finals of the NCAA Lincoln Regional.
