STANFORD, Calif. – In conjunction with the Pac-12 Networks releasing its 2013-14 winter sports television picks, Thursday, the Stanford men’s volleyball program has announced its 2014 schedule. The Cardinal has seven matches slated for coverage on the Pac-12 Networks.
The Cardinal opens the 2014 season at the 50th ASICS UCSB Tournament in Santa Barbara, Calif., on Jan. 3-4. Stanford’s home opener is set for Friday, Jan. 10 against Lewis University in Maples Pavilion. The Cardinal will also take on Grand Canyon University on Jan. 11 in Burnham Pavilion.
Stanford will then play a four-match road swing with the first stop at UCLA on Jan. 17. The match against the Bruins will mark the Cardinal’s first appearance on the Pac-12 Networks this season. Stanford will also play at UC Santa Barbara, BYU and Cal Baptist.
Stanford’s next four matches will be played on The Farm, including a Feb. 8 date against defending national champion UC Irvine on the Pac-12 Networks. The Cardinal will also host 2013 MPSF Conference champion BYU on the Pac-12 Networks on Feb. 15.
Another four-match road trip includes trips to Long Beach State, Cal State Northridge, Pepperdine and a televised conference match at USC.
Stanford will play its next six matches at home starting with back-to-back dates against Hawaii on March 14-15. The Cardinal’s home matches against Pepperdine (March 27) and USC (March 29) will also be televised.
Stanford wraps-up the regular season at UC Irvine (April 11) and UC San Diego (April 12).
The first round of the MPSF Tournament is slated for Saturday, April 19 with the semifinals and finals scheduled for April 24 and April 26, respectively. The NCAA semifinals (May 1) and finals (May 3) will be held at Gentile Arena on the campus of Loyola (Chi.).
