STANFORD, Calif.- The Stanford field hockey team arrived back on campus Wednesday and will hold its first official practice tomorrow at 8:45 a.m.
After a morning dedicated to finalizing housing assignments, visiting with parents and meeting with compliance, players were introduced to support staff and school officials.
Stanford is set to host two closed scrimmages, slated for Aug. 18 and 24.
The 18-game regular-season slate includes 10 contests to be played at the Varsity Turf, beginning with the home opener on Aug. 31 against Connecticut. The schedule also features five contests against 2012 NCAA Tournament squads and five television appearances on the Pac-12 Networks.
Stanford's complete 2013 schedule can be found here.
Stanford (16-7, 6-0 NorPac) is coming off another impressive campaign, reaching the NCAA Tournament and capturing the NorPac Championship for the fifth time in six years. The Cardinal, which has been a fixture in the national rankings for all but one week over the last three years, navigated through a grueling non-conference schedule in which it played four games against the nation's No. 1-ranked team at the time.
