Eighteen Named All-Academic

Stanford's men's and women's track and field teams combined for 18 USTFCCCA All-Academic selections and both were honored as All-Academic teams.

The Cardinal women placed 13 on the individual list, the second-most of any school, and the men had five. In addition, the women's team had a grade-point average of 3.51 and the men had a 3.24.

Distance runner Kathy Kroeger, a senior math and computational science major, led the Stanford contingent with a cumulative GPA of 3.96. Shot putter Alyssa Wisdom was next at 3.79, followed by high jumper Elaine Patten at 3.74.

Seven All-Americans were among the Cardinal honored, including NCAA 400-meter champion Kori Carter (3.32) and NCAA 800 third-place finisher Justine Fedronic (3.41). Other All-Americans were Aisling Cuffe (3.44), Kala Stepter (3.39), Jessica Tonn (3.48), Kroeger, and Wisdom.

Among the Stanford men, Luke Lefebure (3.86, math and computational science) had the top GPA, while milers Michael Atchoo and Tyler Stutzman, and half-miler Luke Lefebure, earned the All-Academic and All-America double.
