Stanford Lacrosse

WHO: The Stanford Varsity Women's Lacrosse Team

WHAT: Trip to Japan in 2003

WHEN: December 13 - 24, 2003

WHY:

·  to encourage the growth of lacrosse internationally

·  to create cross-cultural ties

·  and to develop as individuals and players

WHERE: Tokyo and Kyoto, Japan

WHY THERE?

While certainly not the least expensive foreign tour, Stanford Lacrosse has ambitiously chosen Japan as our destination.  Our location on the west coast makes this an ideal relationship to foster.  The west coast has many historical and commercial ties to Japan and we hope to find support in significant sponsorship opportunities.  While we would appreciate your business' support, our business is to create a cultural connection, to promote international relations, to encourage expansion of the game, and to facilitate a relationship, which would encourage tourism to Stanford and the Bay Area.  Our focus is on increased camp attendance, future student-athlete recruitment, and reciprocal competition.  Our team believes that Stanford and Japan are natural fits, making Japan the ideal cultural and athletic destination.
