AT STANFORD: Three-year starter who is one of the Pac-10's top offensive linemen heading into his final campaign...listed on the Outland Trophy and Rimington Award Preseason Watch Lists...moves back to his natural center position after starting all 12 games at right guard in 2007...has made 12 career starts at center, including nine during '06 and three in '05...Stanford's most experienced offensive player with 32 career starts under his belt...started 20 straight games (12 at center, 8 at right guard) before missing the last three games of the '06 season with injury.
2007 (JUNIOR): Earned second team All-Pac 10 honors...started all 12 games at right guard after making nine starts at center as a sophomore...helped pave the way for a season-high 276 rushing yards (5.8 average per carry) against San Jose State and 175 rushing yards against Notre Dame.
2006 (SOPHOMORE): Entered the season as the projected starter at one offensive guard spot but injuries forced him to move to center...started the first nine games of the season at center before being sidelined for the last four games of the year due to injury...was a Preseason First Team All-Pac 10 selection by Phil Steele's College Football Magazine...second team all-conference preseason selection by The Sporting News.
2005 (FRESHMAN): Earned honorable mention freshman All-America and first team freshman all-conference honors by The Sporting News...teammates voted him the winner of the Menlo-Atherton Trophy as the team's most outstanding freshman...was the only member of Stanford's offensive line to start all 11 games...made eight starts at right guard and three at center.
2004 (FRESHMAN): Did not see game action as a natural freshman...winner of the Greg Piers Award as the team's Most Outstanding Offensive Service Team Player.
HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: SuperPrep Elite 50 selection and consensus high school All-American coming out of St. Anthony's HS in Old Brookville, NY...SuperPrep ranked him 34th on its list of top high school recruits, as well as the top prospect in the state of New York and the third best offensive line prospect in the nation...was ranked as the second best offensive line recruit in the country and top recruit in New York by Rivals.com...was named to TheInsiders.com's 24-member All-America team and was ranked as the 20th best recruit in the country and second best offensive line prospect...earned first team All-America honors by EA Sports...two-time first team all-state, All-Long Island, all-city and All-Suburbs following his junior and senior seasons...Nike Camp and U.S. Army All-America selection...captained the East team in the U.S. Army All-America Bowl...member of the National Honor Society...U.S. Army Scholar Athlete...father, Steven, played football at Princeton...science, technology and society major.
