Traveling, Parking, Tailgating & Prohibited Items

HOW TO ARRIVE AT STANFORD UNIVERSITY

From Highway 101 North & South:

Take the Embarcadero Road exit west towards Stanford. At El Camino Real, Embarcadero turns into Galvez Street. Cross El Camino Real and follow the directional signs. This is the most heavily used route and is subject to considerable delays.

The southbound Embarcadero Road exit may be closed by CHP for traffic management. IN this case, continue southbound on the frontage road to the Oregon Expressway exit, west towards Stanford. Turn north (Right) off Oregon Expressway onto El Camino Real. Turn off El Camino Real onto Serra Street or Galvez Street and follow the directional signs.

From Highway 280 North and South: You have three alternative routes.

Exit Sand Hill Road east towards Stanford. Continue on Sand Hill until you reach the Stanford Shopping Center. Turn right on Arboretum Road and follow the directional signs.

Exit Alpine Road east towards Stanford. Turn right at the traffic light onto Junipero Serra Blvd. Turn east at the next traffic light onto Campus Drive West. As you approach the stadium, follow the directional signs.

Exit Page Mill Road towards Palo Alto. Turn left at the second traffic Junipero Serra Blvd. Turn right onto Stanford Ave., then left on Bowdoin Street and finally right on Campus Drive. Alternatively, you may continue on Junipero Serra Blvd. and turn onto Campus Drive East. As you approach the Stadium, follow the directional signs.

OPEN PARKING AND TAILGATING:

Public Parking: Locations: Lots 4, 8, 9 and 12.
Disabled Parking: Location: Sunken Diamond Lot. Turn onto Galvez from El Camino, left on Nelson Road and proceed to the Sunken Diamond Lot. State Placard Required.
General Bus Parking: Location: Along the Serra Street, south of Galvez, north of Campus Drive. Turn onto Serra from El Camino, follow Serra Street till you reach Burnham Pavilion (SUDPS Personnel) will direct the buses to parking locations.
Bicycle Parking: The Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition will provide free guarded bicycle parking outside of Gates 5, 9 and 13, and on the corner of Sam McDonald and Nelson Rd.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

Stanford Stadium has instituted security polices and is encouraging patrons to allow extra time for entry into the venue. Please be aware that some additional items are prohibited from Stanford Stadium and that all persons and packages are subject to search. Security measures are constantly reviewed and subject to change as conditions warrant. Please continue to check the gostanford.com website for changes prior to the football game.

The following items are PROHIBITED from being brought into Stanford Stadium. Security at the entry gates will conduct a bag search and refuse entry to any persons possessing restricted items. Receptacles will be available if guest would like to discard prohibited items, otherwise they may take the items to their vehicles.

The following items are prohibited in Stanford Stadium:

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Animals (except for services animals)
  • Balls and Frisbees
  • Umbrellas
  • Banners, signs and poles
  • Bicycles, roller blades and skateboards
  • Cooler or bags larger than 12 x 12 x 12
  • Cans, glass containers, thermos bottles
  • Horns and artificial noise makers
  • Lawn furniture and strollers
  • Plastic containers larger than 20 oz.
  • Sealed plastics bottles
  • Weapons and any dangerous items
  • Uncut Fruit

Stanford Stadium is Non-Smoking Facility.

Distribution of any materials, without permission from Stanford University Department of Athletics, is prohibited.

PLEASE NOTE: Coolers, backpacks and bags will not be accepted (checked) at Guest Services Tents.
