Stanford football head coach Buddy Teevens addressed the media during a press conference held at Fior D'Italia Restaurant in San Francisco prior to the team's final contest of the season in the 107th Big Game versus California at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley this Saturday, November 20 (12:30 pm, PST). "Cal is nationally ranked. The most impressive way they play is on the defensive side of the football. They're a very cohesive group. Offensively, they're immaculate. They're running game has been formidable this year; their passing game as well. They look like they enjoy playing together. Jeff Tedford has done a tremendous job recruiting an outstanding group of young men. On our side of the ball, we're very excited about the development of our program. We may not have the wins we would have liked this season but our kids were competitive the whole year. Getting "closer" is not good enough in this business but our guys showed passion with the way they played as a group. They're committed to each other and were very, very solid over the course of the season. I expect it to be a tremendous ballgame. To get a chance to play a team like Cal is an honor and certainly a challenge. We're looking forward to the opportunity."
