Getting to Know Shelly Goldberg
What is your favorite class taken at Stanford? ME103: Manufacturing and Design
What do you like most about the academic environment at Stanford? Everyone here is so smart, but I don't feel like people are competitive in terms of grades: group work and collaboration on problem sets is encouraged and really helps me to learn and understand the material, as well as make friends in my classes.
What do you see yourself doing in 40 years? Geez, I should be retired by then, don't you think!?
What would be your ideal career? Working as a mechanical or design engineer at a product design firm--I definitely want to have a "hands on" job where I can prototype, brainstorm, innovate, and work on a variety of different projects.
What is your quirkiest study habit? I refuse to study in the libraries.
What is your best "get rich quick" plan? Lise and I talk about opening a "Grandma Moses" cafe and craft shop in Maine, but I'm not sure if we would actually make any money!.
