As a Junior in 2011: Assumed role as starting setter following the graduation of AVCA national player of the year Kawika Shoji ... started in all 28 matches with 11.56 assists per set, No. 8 in school history in the rally-scoring era ... had three double-doubles, including two against Long Beach State ... reached the 60-assist mark on four occasions ... had 63 assists in a four-set victory over Pacific (April 16), the second-highest single-match total in Stanford history in the rally-scoring era ... recorded 1,272 assists on the year placing him No. 5 in school history in the rally-scoring era ... his career total of 1403 is No. 3 all-time in Stanford history ... named to MPSF All-Academic team.
As a Sophomore in 2010: Played in five matches, with one start ... had 71 sets and remained second behind Kawika Shoji in assists per set with 5.92 ...had two kills out of five attempts, eight digs, four blocks, and two aces ... had 58 assists, two kills, and one ace in only start, a four-set victory over UC Santa Cruz (Feb. 5).
As a Freshman in 2009: Played in four matches, with two starts ... made collegiate debut in a start against Long Beach State (Jan. 30), playing two sets in a home-opening five-set victory ... played full match in three-set loss at eventual NCAA champion UC Irvine (Feb. 6) and had career-high 26 assists ... second behind Kawika Shoji in assists per set with 8.57.
International: Reached the quarterfinals of the FIVB Junior World Beach Volleyball Championships with partner Tony Ciarelli in Alanya, Turkey, in September, 2010 ... Barry's team went 3-0 in pool play and beat a Norwegian team in the round of 16 to advance ... ultimately tied for fifth ... earned selection through a series of qualifying events and camps beginning late May in Santa Cruz ... from a final group of 14 in Manhattan Beach, Calif., four were selected and split into two teams.
High School/Club: Starred at Torrey Pines High School in San Diego and was selected as the CIF-San Diego Section player of the year by the San Diego Hall of Champions ... named to Volleyball Magazine's Fab 50 for the class of 2008 and to its All-America third team ... named 2008 player of the year for north San Diego County by the North County Times ... Palomar League player of the year ... led Torrey Pines in kills and assists in earning team MVP honors as a senior ... captained the Falcons for two years and reached the CIF San Diego Section Division I semifinals three times ... played for the Seaside Volleyball Club of San Diego and is enshrined in the club's Hall of Fame, alongside former Stanford teammate Ed Howell ... won gold at the 2008 national beach volleyball championships, after capturing silver in 2007.
