As a Freshman in 2011: Earned a spot on the All-MPSF Freshman team after playing in all 28 matches, making 27 starts ... set a Stanford single-season record for hitting percentage (.451) in the rally-scoring era, making only 33 errors on the season ... had four errorless hitting matches ... finished first on the team in blocks (94), fourth in kills (177) and second in aces (105) ... reached the 10-kill mark in two early-April matches ... finished the year on a strong note against Long Beach State, recording eight kills, one ace, three digs and nine total blocks ... had at least one block in 27 of the team's 28 matches ... International: Played for the United States at the FIVB Junior World Championships along with Steven Irvin and Brian Cook, in Brazil in August ... team placed fourth, the best-ever for the U.S. in the tournament ... totaled 37 kills, 12 solo blocks, 18 digs, and six aces in eight matches ... started for the U.S. team that captured the NORCECA Junior Continental championship in Quebec, Canada, in August, 2010, and advanced to the Junior Worlds.
High School/Club: A 2010 graduate of Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, Calif., the same school that produced teammate Dylan Kordic '12 and 2010 graduate Jason Palacios ... helped Mustangs to the CIF Southern Section Division I and Bay League titles in 2008, and to the section semifinals in 2009 ... named MVP of the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions ... named to Volleyball Magazine's High School All-America second team ... named as one of "32 Underclassmen to Watch." ... played for the Southern California Volleyball club, which finished fourth in the 2009 junior nationals in the Open 17's division ... was named to the All-Tournament team.
