Erik Storck, a 2007 graduate of Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., was a four-time All-American and two-time finalist for College Sailor of the Year (2005, 2007), during his time competing for the Big Green. An economics major, Storck brings two years of leadership experience on the nationally-ranked Dartmouth team as vice commodore (2005-2006) and commodore (2006-2007). Storck also brings a wealth of college sailing-specific knowledge, having skippered A-division to top-five finishes in four coed dinghy national championships and three team racing national championships for Dartmouth.
A native of Huntington, N.Y., Storck, coached the Long Island Sound Optimist Team to a number of great finishes, including the win at the 2007 national team racing championship.
Erik's own recent sailing pursuits include active participation on the highly competitive Vanguard 15 team racing summer circuit on the East Coast. His medium-term goal planning sets his sites on the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, in which he intends to campaign in the double-handed 49er skiff class.
At the end of January, Erik will head to Perth, Australia, with teammates including his older brother and younger sister, to compete in the team racing world championship.
