Rich Muschell was hired in March 2006 by Stanford University and is now the Assistant Athletic Director and Director of Ticket Sales and Services. Muschell manages all aspects of ticket sales and operations for the seven ticketed Stanford sports and large number of post-season events hosted by Stanford. Muschell served as the Director of Football Season Ticket Sales and then the Director of Ticket sales before being promoted to his current position.
Muschell boasts 20 years of experience in the ticketing business. Muschell served as the Director of Ticket Sales for the San Jose Sharks (NHL) from 1990-1997, for the Calgary Flames (NHL) from 1998-2000, and for the San Francisco Demons (XFL) from 2000-2001. Muschell then served as the Director of Ticket Sales and Operations for the East West Shrine Game from 2002-2005 and the Client Services Director at Tickets.com from 2005-2006.
A native of Torrington, Connecticut, Muschell graduated from Brown University in 1975 with a bachelor's degree in history and later earned an MBA in marketing from San Francisco State University. Muschell enjoys baseball, hockey, reading, and film noir.
