Stanford, CA - With three-consecutive league victories under their belt, the Cardinal (6-6 overall, 6-0 MPLL) heads to the East Coast this weekend to face two non-league opponents. On Friday, April 19 Stanford will battle the Boston College Eagles at 7:30pm (ET), then on Sunday, April 21 they face the University of New Hampshire Wildcats at 12pm (ET). After these two contests the Cardinal comes back to finish the regular season with a game at California on Saturday, April 27th and one at home against UC Davis on Tuesday, April 30th.
Three Games, Three Wins
After a tough East Coast trip over Spring Break, Stanford got back into the swing of things with three straight league victories, two over Denver and one over California. The Cardinal doubled up on the Pioneers twice with a 16-8 win at Denver and a 14-7 triumph at home. In between those victories, Stanford topped the Golden Bears 10-4 on Maloney Field.
Leading the way last weekend was freshman Claire Calzonetti with 7 goals over the last three games, including hat tricks in both matches at home. She is third on the team in scoring so far this season, one of four freshman at the top of the squad. Kelsey Twist has 21 goals and 7 assists for 28 points and Julia Calzonetti (twin sister of Claire) holds the second spot with 17 goals and 7 assists for 24 points - the top two scorers have each had four multi-goal games this year. Rounding out the four is Nina Pantano with 16 goals and 3 assists for 19 points.
