Six Cardinal Selected Pac-10 All-Academic

STANFORD, Calif. - Six members of the No. 2 ranked Stanford University women's gymnastics team were named to the Pac-10 All-Academic team, as announced by the conference office Thursday morning. Seniors Caroline Fluhrer and Shelly Goldberg earned first team honors, while senior Lise L?veill? was named to the second team. Senior All-Americans Kendall Beck and Lindsay Wing, along with sophomore All-American Natalie Foley were selected All-Academic honorable mention.

The six Pac-10 All-Academic selections matches the most in program history, equaling the 2003, 1999 and 1994 seasons.

Goldberg, a three-time NACGC Academic All-American, owns a 3.99 GPA in mechanical engineering, while being a major contributor for the Cardinal on the vault and the floor exercise. This is Goldberg's third consecutive Pac-10 All-Academic first team honor.

Fluhrer, a 2003 All-American on the uneven bars, earned her first All-Academic first team honor after being selected as a second team member in 2002 and 2003. Fluhrer, who owns a 3.74 GPA in civil engineering, has competed in the all-around in eight of the Cardinal's 10 meets this season, most recently finishing third at the Pac-10 Championship with a score of 39.675. The Seattle, WA native has also been named a NACGA Academic All-American the past three seasons.

L?veill? boasts a 3.73 GPA in human biology, while being a leader for the Cardinal in the gym. A three-time All-American, L?veill? has competed in the all-around in seven of Stanford's 10 meets this season. L?veill?, who is a three-time NACGC Academic All-American, was also a Pac-10 All-Academic member in 2002 and 2003.

Beck and Foley earn their first Pac-10 All-Academic honor, while Wing was named an honorable mention member for the second consecutive year.
