Stanford, Calif. - The 2003 Stanford women's gymnastics team will host a fine evening of wine tasting and gymnastics in its inaugural fundraiser on December 14 from 4-7 p.m. in Burnham Pavilion. "Sips and Swings" will also feature an exhibition by the nationally-ranked Cardinal.

The wine tasting will be presented by Gourmet Magazine's Michael Green and a silent auction will also take place throughout the evening.

"I am so excited about this event," said second-year head coach Kristen Smyth. "'Sips and Swings' is a great opportunity for us to reach out to the community in many different ways. It gives our audience an introduction to our program and a sneak preview of the upcoming season. Along with an entertaining and informative wine review from Michael Green it promises to be a wonderful evening."

Stanford is coming off its most successful season in program history, which includes an appearance in the NCAA Super Six. The Cardinal also return three All-Americans in juniors Kendall Beck (San Antonio, TX), Lise L?veill? (Burnaby, British Columbia) and Lindsay Wing (Cypress, TX).
