Walnut Creek, Ca - Stanford sophomore Tabitha Yim has been named Pacific-10 Conference Gymnast of the Week for January 9-16, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Yim, hailing from Irvine, Calif., helped lead Stanford (194.35) to victory in a four-way meet against San Jose State (190.575), Sacramento State (191.525) and UC Davis (186.875). Competing in only her third all-around competition, she tallied a career-best 39.600 to finish first. Her previous best was 39.450 set at the NCAA championships in 2005. She scored victories on the floor exercise (9.925), which tied her career-best, vault (9.900), also a career-best, and beam (9.875).
Stanford's next meet is against OREGON STATE in Corvallis on January 27.
