STANFORD, Calif. - Hey y'all,
I hope that this Inside the Locker Room doesn't fall too far below Shona's last write-up! SWG had another great week. After arriving back to campus on the bus at about 1 a.m. Monday morning from UCLA, many of us dragged ourselves out of bed to attend our 9 a.m. classes. (Thank goodness there aren't any 8 a.m. classes at Stanford!)
We had a light practice on Monday since we competed the day before, and some of the girls coming back from injuries were able to get some extra work in. Tuesday, everyone had a chance to catch up on sleep and then we got back in the gym all ready to go on Wednesday. We had a great practice and will have a few exciting new adds for our meet this weekend.
Ashley (Ashley Morgan) did some great double layouts off bars, Shona (Shona Morgan) is tumbling again and has been rock solid on beam, Dayton (Nicole Dayton) has learned multiple new floor passes in the last couple of weeks, and Ming (Ming Ya Zhou) is tumbling sky high.
Friday, we had a light practice, then all went to cheer on our men's gymnastics team in its first home meet of the season! Friday night, we got to hang out together using the recruit that was here visiting as an excuse to all play games and watch movies in one of the dorms. The new team favorite game is bananagrams : ).
We finished our week with a great practice on Saturday, concentrating on "focus". We are all fired up and excited for our next competition and all the ones to follow. Hope to see all of you on Sunday January 23 in Burnham at 2 p.m. for our first home meet against UCLA!!
Thanks for checking in,
