MPSF Announces Men's Volleyball Conference All-Academic Teams

The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation recognizes the following men's volleyball student-athletes for their academic excellence in the classroom, as well as their individual accomplishments in intercollegiate athletics for the 2001 season.

Qualifying student-athletes must possess a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, must be at least a sophomore academically, must have completed at least one full academic year at the institution they are currently competing at, and must have participated in fifty-percent or more of their institution's competition in the student-athlete's particular sport.

Brett Youngberg averaged 2.43 kills per game during the 2001 season as well as a team-leading 1.20 blocks per game. He was a third-team MPSF All-Conference selection as well. Josh Lukens averaged 13.38 assists per game, playing in all 23 games for the Cardinal. He was an honorable mention MPSF All-Conference pick in 2001. Brad Griffith played in 18 games for Stanford, starting in two. He averaged 2.02 assists per game.
