Stanford, Calif. - Four Cardinal football games have been selected for live television during the 2006 campaign, including the season opener at Oregon, the home opener vs. Navy in the New Stanford Stadium, Stanford's annual clash with Notre Dame, and the 109th Big Game in Berkeley. More television selections will be made throughout the season.
Stanford will open the season on ABC-TV against an Oregon team that finished 10-2 a year ago and played in the Holiday Bowl. After a 3:00 pm at Spartan Stadium against San Jose State, the Cardinal will unveil the New Stanford Stadium on September 16 against Navy in a 7:00 pm game that will be televised by Fox Sports Net Bay Area.
The Cardinal's other two TV games include an October 7 date in South Bend against the Fighting Irish and the regular season finale at Cal in the 109th Big Game, to be televised nationally on Fox Sports Net. The game will kickoff at 12:00 pm in Berkeley.
