Get an inside look at the Stanford softball team each week. In this edition, senior Jenna Becerra talks about the team's crazy schedule this week.
Hey Card Fans!
First of all, I'd like to say thank you for all of your support this season! As a senior, I have had the privilege to play the last four seasons on The Farm, and it has been an awesome experience. I know I speak for the other seniors as well when I say it is hard to believe that we are already halfway through Pac-12 Conference play in our last season! The good news is that there is still a lot of softball to be played. We're not done yet!
Right now, Stanford softball is in the middle of a crazy week of play. Last weekend, we hosted a three-game series against Oregon. After battling through some games, we headed down south for a midweek series against UCLA. While we played some tough games in both series, the team showed a lot of fight, and I am looking forward to some redemption this weekend, as is the rest of the team.
As we move into this weekend, we are hosting Oregon State for our fifth Pac-12 series of the year. We will finish up our 11-day stretch featuring nine games - a totally packed schedule and one of the busiest since I've been here. But we're up for it. While conference play has been a tough battle so far, we are absolutely chomping at the bit to get on the field again and get some W's. Our swings are feeling good, and we are continuing to make adjustments both offensively and defensively. I am very excited for them to show on the field this weekend.
Thanks again Stanford fans. Keep cheering us on and come out for our games Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m., and Sunday at 12 p.m. at Boyd and Jill Smith Family Stadium! If you can't be there, follow us on Twitter @StanfordSball and gostanford.com.
Help get us fired up for the series this weekend! Go Card!
