Stanford Athletics Introduces The Latest In Digital Ticketing Technology

Stanford, CA - August 20, 2007 - Stanford Athletics today announced the launch of Ticket Transfer and Ticket Gift Back, the latest features of Cardinal Digital Ticketing that allows ticket holders to share tickets with other Cardinal fans or donate unused tickets back to the athletic department electronically. Additionally, through the Print-At-Home feature, fans can instantly receive tickets via email and conveniently print them from home rather than meeting face-to-face for an exchange.

While Stanford fans can already purchase tickets online, the Ticket Transfer and Ticket Gift Back features provide greater convenience for fans while ensuring support of Stanford Football so that season tickets never go unused. Cardinal fans simply select tickets they cannot use and transfer them to friends and family online or donate them back to the athletic department.

"For fans that cannot attend all eight home football games, the Ticket Transfer and Ticket Gift Back features offer a convenient solution allowing fans the opportunity to make the most of their unused tickets," said The Jaquish & Kenninger Director of Athletics Bob Bowlsby. "For Stanford Football, this is a great opportunity to maintain team support by helping fill stadium seats."

The Ticket Transfer and Ticket Gift Back features will be available to season ticket holders starting August 22, once season tickets have been mailed. Ticket Transfers must be completed two hours prior to game time and Ticket Gift Backs must be returned to athletics 48-hours prior to each game. To access Ticket Transfer or Ticket Gift Back, season ticket holders should log into their online customer accounts at /ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=30600&ATCLID=208444373.

The cost to transfer tickets is $2.50 per ticket, which can be paid for by the sender or the transfer recipient. In order for a recipient to open a transferred ticket, Adobe Reader 4.0 or greater is required.

Print-At-Home Eliminates Will Call Lines and Drive Time

Once tickets are transferred online, the expediency of the Print-At-Home feature eliminates the time it takes for season ticket holders to deliver tickets to friends and family. Rather than standing in long Will Call lines or driving across town to deliver tickets, the Print-At-Home feature allows recipients of transferred tickets to print tickets on a home or office printer. There are no associated fees to the sender or the transfer recipient to use the Print-At-Home feature.

The tickets can be printed on standard 8.5x11-inch paper. The Print-At-Home ticket will include a unique barcode, which is scanned upon stadium entry. For security, the barcode allows only one scan per entry, eliminating any attempts to duplicate, alter or sell copies of the Print-At-Home ticket.

Recently, Stanford Athletics introduced and tested the Print-At-Home feature during the Disney Friendship Cup Soccer Tournament. Approximately half of the online ticket purchasers used the Print-At-Home feature to attend the July 14 soccer match.

The Print-At-Home feature will be available to fans for the 2007 football, men's basketball, women's basketball and women's volleyball seasons.
