STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford University football program concludes spring practice this Saturday (April 28) with the annual Cardinal-White Spring Game at Stanford Stadium. Admission to the event is free.
Festivities begin at 11:00 a.m. with a youth clinic, followed by the Spring Football Game Family Fest at 12:10 p.m. The annual Cardinal-White Spring Game, which is the culmination for three weeks of spring practice, will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m., and will be immediately followed by an autograph session with the entire 2001 Stanford Football Team.
The Cardinal returns 40 letter-winners and 16 starters from a team that finished fourth in the Pacific-10 Conference last season. Stanford returns Second Team All-Pac-10 selections Eric Heitmann (offensive guard) and Tank Williams, as well as honorable mention all-conference inside linebacker Coy Wire.
Tyrone Willingham's squad opens the 2001 season on Saturday, September 8 against Boston College at Stanford Stadium. The six-game home schedule also includes dates with Cal (November 17), Notre Dame (November 24), UCLA (October 27), Arizona State (September 22) and Washington State (October 13).
