STANFORD, Calif. - Hey SWG fans!

First a huge shout out to Stanford football! What an exciting end to the week. The team played a tough game and never let up with their strongest efforts coming in the last few minutes of the game. It even had me, the hockey enthusiast, jumping up and down in my seat! As soon as the game finished, we rushed the field with the rest of the student section to congratulate the team while dancing to our fight song and taking a ton of pictures. Definitely a memorable moment J

Earlier this week, SWG continued to worker harder than ever in the gym. Each week we are doing more and more gymnastics and starting to piece routines together. The talent of this team is endless. A few highlights from this week: Ming back on beam making it look easy, Lucy casting to handstand with ridiculous power, Dani looking solid and intimidating with her new beam routine and the entire teams' performance on floor. Kristen and Tabby's choreography is incredible! And the most exciting highlight of the week was winning our first team challenge! We were asked to pick a six-person line up on bars. Each girl had to do a set of 5 kip cast to handstands and each true handstand was counted. As a team we needed to reach 20. Well it is safe to say we surpassed that number with amazing confidence, earning Sunday practice off!

On Friday we welcomed two prospective athletes to Stanford, which is always fun. We met them for a delicious breakfast at Hobees after our morning weights. Following breakfast they had a meeting with Dean Julie, went on a tour of our beautiful campus and then met us at the gym. SWG ran through a modified game day showing skills, dance routines and big releases on bars. We can see improvements each week and I am so excited to see our team grow throughout preseason. Check back again for another update next week!
