Stanford, Calif. - Athletic Director Bob Bowlsby announced today that Jeff Shilling is returning to Stanford on November 15 to assume the role of Associate Athletic Director for Development. In this role, Shilling will oversee the efforts of the Athletic Department's development staff and work closely with the Office of Development to implement overall fundraising strategies.
Shilling is no stranger to Stanford and Office of Development (OOD). From 1999 through 2003, he worked in the Graduate School of Business at Stanford, first as Associate Director of the Business School Fund and later as Associate Director for Development. In 2003, Shilling joined Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose as Vice President for Advancement to lead a 13-member development, alumni/parent relations, and communications team. Shilling and his staff recently completed a highly successful $35 million endowment campaign.
Shilling received his B.A. and M.B.A. from Butler University in Indianapolis where he was a member of the varsity tennis team. After graduation, he worked in various staff positions at Butler including Assistant Director of Admissions, Assistant Director of Annual Giving, and Director of Annual Giving. In the latter role, Jeff was responsible for the university-wide annual giving program, including managing the annual fund for Butler's athletic department.
