New Orleans - Alex Dunne, Kathy Kroeger and Stephanie Marcy were named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Acadmeic team on Tuesday. The trio were all-region runners and helped Stanford to a Pac-10 Cross Country title.

Only two teams in the nation (Syracuse and Florida) had more athletes earn this distinction than Stanford.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have either earned USTFCCCA All-America status or finished in the NCAA region's top 15 (or top 10 percent) in 2010.

Kroeger placed fifth in the region, while Marcy was 11th and Dunne placed 17th. Both Dunne and Marcy earned the same honor last season, while Kroeger and Marcy earned All-Acadmeic status for the 2010 track season. Marcy also earned the honor for the 2009 track season.

Marcy was a redshirt junior this past cross-country season that is pursuing her degree in classics. Dunne and Kroeger are both sophomores with majors still undeclared.

The trio of women join Chris Derrick and Elliott Heath from the men's team that were honored on Monday.
