Stanford, Calif. - Linebacker Michael Okwo and offensive lineman Alex Fletcher have been named to the 2006 All-Pac-10 Team selected by Scout.com. Okwo was named First Team, while Fletcher was chosen Second Team.
Okwo, who was also selected First Team All-Pac-10 in 2006 by the conference, led team with 95 tackles despite missing two games and also had a 9.56 tackle per game average that ranks tied for first in the Pac-10 and tied for 15th in the nation. In addition, Okwo paced the squad with 57 solo stops and ranks 14th nationally with an average of 5.70 per contest. He was also second on the squad with two forced fumbles (#10 Pac-10), as well as tied for second with 2.0 sacks, third in tackles-for-loss (5.0) and tied for second in pass breakups (5). Okwo had 15 tackles against Washington State on September 23 - the most by a Stanford player in 2006 - and picked up a career-best nine solo stops at UCLA on September 30. He had double digit tackles in each of the first five games he played this year.
Fletcher started the first nine games of the season at center before missing the final three due to injury.
