Stanford Freshman and Men's Open Four to Grand Finals-IRA Coverage Day 2

The Stanford men's crew qualified for two Grand Finals in day two of the 102nd IRA regatta. For the first time in Stanford history the freshman eight will be racing in the grand final. Finishing third in their semifinal behind California and Harvard earned the Pac-10 silver medalists lane one in Saturday's Grand Final with Yale, Brown and Princeton rounding out the field.

The open men's four will also advance to Saturday's Grand Final as they dominated the field in their repechage. The crew will race from lane six against Harvard A, Harvard B, California, Michigan A, and Pennsylvania.

The men's varsity eight placed second in the second semifinal qualifying them for the third final. The Cardinal finished 2 seconds off of first place Brown. Stanford will face Temple, Brown, Boston University. Syracuse, and Virginia in Saturday's competition.
