STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford junior Ashley Morgan was named to the All-Pac-12 first team in two events and was among three Cardinal women's gymnasts to receive all-conference honors, as announced by the conference office Tuesday.

Morgan, a native of Danville, Calif., and the Pac-12 floor exercise champion for the second consecutive season, received first-team honors in that event and on the uneven bars. Morgan has earned all-conference recognition in each of her three seasons, and twice has received first-team honors on floor.

Making the all-conference team for the first time were sophomore Shona Morgan and freshman Ivana Hong.

Hong, of Allen, Texas, earned second-team honors on vault. The 2009 U.S. champion on that event, Hong tied for first at the Pac-12 Championships on Saturday in Salt Lake City with a season-best score of 9.950.

Shona Morgan, a 2008 Australian Olympian, made the second team on balance beam. She tied for fifth on the beam at the Pac-12 meet.

The All-Pac-12 team is determined by a combination of 50 percent regional qualifying score (entire season composite) and 50 percent Conference Championships score. The all-conference first team consists of the top six all-around competitors, plus the top three competitors in each individual event who are not among the all-around honorees.

The Pac-12 second team consists of the top two all-arounders who were not named to the first team (as all-arounders or in an event), after such the top two gymnasts from each event who were not yet named to the first team or the second team would be selected to the second team.

Stanford next competes at the NCAA Champaign (Ill.) Regional on April 7 and must finish among the top two to advance to the NCAA Championships April 20-22 in Duluth, Ga.
