Stanford, Calif. - Stanford sailors dominated the competition on Saturday and Sunday at the Bryson Women's regatta. Sophomore Leigh Hammel '10 and crews Hannah Burroughs '11 and Sarah Schoknect '08 won low point for the event, beating teammates Evan Brown '08 and Kelly McKenna '09 for that honor.

The Stanford A squad scored a low of 13, bested only by the B team's 12 for a winning score of 25. The University of Hawaii came in second with 77 points and Fordham rounded out the top 3 with 84.

"Leigh and her crews did a great job throughout the event," said Coach Kehoe, "Leigh sailed a large majority of the regatta with Hannah and then when the wind got stronger we made a switch to Sarah." It obviously worked as Leigh and Sarah ended the day with a 1, 2 finish. The Cardinal sailed an almost flawless event with the only hiccups coming when A division skipper Evan Brown fell out of the boat and finished 4th and Hammels had two seconds. Next home regatta for the Cardinal is the Singlehanded District championships on Oct 12-14.
