SANTA CLARA, Calif.-- David Mosko medaled in the 200-meter long course butterfly to highlight the Stanford men at the Santa Clara International Invite on Friday.
Mosko finished in third place with a time of 2:04.17, behind Stefan Hirniak and Brazil's Kai Marcio de Almeida. Marcio de Almeida paced the field with a time of 1:56.14, two seconds short of Michael Phelps' meet record.
“I think I'm honestly knocking on the door,” said Mosko following the meet in regards to swimming at the Olympics in two years. “I need to make strides the next two years (to do it).”
In the C Finals of the same event, Canadian and Cardinal freshman Matthew Swanston finihsed in third place with a time of 2:07.29.
The invite runs through Sunday at the Santa Clara Swim Club.
