STANFORD, Calif. - The Pac-12 announced Tuesday start times for televised football and men's water polo games set for Saturday, Oct. 6. No. 8 Stanford Football will host Arizona at 12 noon at Stanford Stadium, while No. 3 Stanford Men's Water Polo will host No. 1 USC at 9 a.m. at Avery Aquatic Center.
Each end of the doubleheader will be shown live on television. The men's water polo contest between arch rivals Stanford and USC will air on the Pac-12 Networks, the first game at Avery broadcast on the new network. Jim Watson will handle the play-by-play with Greg Mescall on color.
The noon football game between the Cardinal and Wildcats will be shown on Fox.
The water polo battle will be at least the second of the season between Stanford (3-1) and USC (9-0). The teams met at the NorCal Invitational at Avery back on Sept. 15, with the Trojans escaping with a 10-9 overtime win. Both teams will be in action at the SoCal Tournament this weekend, with a chance to meet in the title game Sunday evening.
It will be the first of three Stanford games shown on the Pac-12 Networks this season. The network will also broadcast the Big Splash against California on Oct. 20 and the Cardinal at UCLA on Nov. 9.
The Cardinal football squad (3-0) will be in action this Thursday night, Sept. 27, at Washington (2-1). Kickoff at CenturyLink Field is set for 6 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
