ALL-PAC-10 TEAM

BORCHARDT is a first time All-Conference selection. He leads the league in rebounding, averaging 11.3 boards per game and is seventh in the Pac-10 with 17.0 points per game. Borchardt posted two games with 20 or more rebounds this season and is second in the Conference with 13 double-doubles on the year.

CLANCY becomes the third USC player to earn Player of the Year honors. He was also an All-Conference selection last season. This year, Clancy leads the Trojans in scoring, averaging 19.2 points per game (fourth in the Pac-10) and in rebounding with 9.8 rebounds per game (second in the Pac-10). He currently leads all active Conference players with 35 double-doubles, including 17 this season alone.

GARDNER returns to the All-Conference team after being honored by the coaches as a freshman in 2000. He ranks second in the Conference in scoring (20.6 ppg), fifth in assists (4.68 apg), fifth in steals (1.79 spg) and first in three-point field goals made (94).

JACOBSEN earns his third All-Conference award, joining just 33 other players in Pac-10 history to accomplish that feat. In 2002, he is leading the Pac-10 in scoring (22.2 ppg) while also ranking ninth in assists (3.63 apg) and fourth in three-point field goals made (62).

JONES earns All-Pac-10 honors for the first time. He has started in 27 of 29 games for the Pac-10 Champion Ducks this season, averaging 18.6 points (fifth in the Pac-10), 5.7 rebounds (16th in the Pac-10) and 1.79 steals (fourth in the Pac-10) while shooting .528 from the floor (10th in the Pac-10) and .855 from the free throw line (sixth in the Pac-10).

KAPONO garners All-Pac-10 honors for the third time in his career. He's eighth in the Conference in scoring (16.9 ppg) and 18th in rebounding (5.4 rpg). Kapono also ranks third in both three-point field goal percentage (.471) and free throw percentage (.866). His 1,550 career points ranks 16th on the all-time Bruin scoring list.

PREWITT is a first time All-Conference selection. This season, he has led the Sun Devils in scoring with 17.6 points per game (sixth in the Pac-10) and rebounding with 6.8 rebounds per game (10th in the Pac-10). Earlier this year, Prewitt became the 27th Sun Devil to join the 1,000-point club and currently ranks 18th on the school's all-time list with 1,158 career points.

RIDNOUR, the 2001 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year, earns All-Pac-10 honors for the first time. He has started at point guard for the Ducks in all 29 games this year. Ridnour is among the league leaders in scoring (15.1 ppg/13th), assists (5.00 apg/third), three-pointers made (73/third), three-point field goal percentage (.471/fourth) and assist/turnover ratio (1.88/second).

WALTON earns All-Conference honors for the first time in his career. Known as one of the better passers in the country, Walton leads the Pac-10 in assists with a mark of 6.44 per game as a 6'8 forward. He also ranks in scoring (15.1 ppg/12th), rebounding (7.4 rpg/seventh) and steals (1.76 spg/sixth).

WRENN, the 2002 Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year, earns All-Conference honors for the first time. He has started in 24 of 27 games for the Huskies this season, averaging 19.7 points per game (third in the Pac-10) and grabbing 6.3 rebounds per game (13th in the Pac-10). Earlier this season, Wrenn reached the 30-point plateau in four contests.

PAC-10 ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM

CRAVEN is the first Trojan to be named to the Pac-10 All-Freshman team since Burt Harris in 1993. He is second on the team in points per game (12.1 ppg) and third in rebounds per game (4.5 rpg). Craven's 2.29 steals per game leads the Pac-10 in that department.

FRYE joins fellow freshman Salim Stoudamire on the Pac-10 All-Freshman squad. Frye averages 9.6 points, 6.3 boards (14th in the Pac-10) and 1.39 blocks (fifth in the Pac-10) in 28 games this season.

SAMPSON joins fellow freshman Amit Tamir as the first Bears since Sean Lampley (1998) to earn Pac-10 All-Freshman honors. He is fourth on the team in scoring (7.1 ppg) and leads the team in rebounding (6.7 rpg). Sampson has started in 27 of 28 games this season for California, shooting .444 from the field.

STOUDAMIRE is the first Arizona player to earn Pac-10 Freshman of the Year honors since Michael Wright in 1999. With fellow freshman teammate Channing Frye, it's the third time in the last four seasons that two Arizona players were selected to the team. Stoudamire averages 12.9 points per game (20th in the Pac-10) while leading the Conference in free throw percentage (.933).

TAMIR earns the honor after playing in 20 games this season for California, averaging 11.7 points per game (second on the team) and 3.8 rebounds per game (fifth on the team). Tamir and fellow freshman teammate Jamal Sampson become the first California tandem to be selected to the All-Freshman Team since 1984 (the first year freshmen were honored).

PAC-10 COACH OF THE YEAR

KENT, 47, earns his first Pac-10 Coach of the Year honor. In his fifth season at the helm of his alma mater, he guided the Ducks to their first Conference Championship since 1945 along with a 22-7 record and 14-4 Pac-10 mark. After starting the season 4-3, Oregon went on to win 18 of its last 22 games. In fact, the seven losses for the Ducks this season have only been by a combined 27 points (less than four points per loss). Kent has led Oregon to postseason play twice in his career, including an NIT Final Four appearance in 1999. His overall record stands at 180-136 (.570) while his Oregon record is 90-56 (.616).
