LONG BEACH, Calif.-- Cardinal Swimming swept past the field of the Toshiba Classic winning all 18 events they entered, as Austin Staab and Matt Thompson each won their third events, in as many days.
In Arizona, at the second of three days of the Wildcat Diving Invite, Brent Eichenseer was second in the three-meter event with a score of 364.60, while Taylor Sishc was fourth, with a score of 312.30.
Staab, who also won the 50 free and 100 fly, closed out the meet with a time of 43.93 in the 100, a “B” standard time. For Thompson, he along with fellow freshman, Matthew Swanston, led the field in the 200 backstroke, posting times of 1:44.39 and 1:44.47, respectively for a couple of more “B” standard times. Thompson won both individual medleys earlier this weekend.
The school's top two 200 butterfliers, Bobby Bollier and David Mosko, did just that on Saturday, falling four seconds short of the top-two times in school-history, but leading the field with time of 1:45.37 and 1:45.78, respectively. Both were “A” standard times.
Chad La Tourette won his second distance event of the meet, taking the 1650 with a “B” time of 14:56.20. Curtis Lovelace and John Christe finished off the 200 breaststroke in front of the pack, swimming 1:58.04 and 1:58.97, respectively.
