STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford Football Weekly and host Kevin Danna talked Monday with Bradford M. Freeman Director of Football and head coach David Shaw about Stanford's controversial defeat at Notre Dame, along with the challenges and unusual timing of this Saturday's 115th Big Game.
Four players also joined Stanford Football Weekly. Senior tight end Levine Toilolo (21.4 yards/reception) talked about the response following a difficult outcome in South Bend. Fifth-year senior outside linebacker Chase Thomas (team-high 35 tackles, 6.0 TFL) discussed the timing of the Big Game for the current emotions of the Stanford team. Junior inside linebacker A.J. Tarpley (13 solo tackles) offered the approach for the Stanford defense this week. Senior nickel back Usua Amanam (6.5 TFL) acknowledged the talent and challenges presented by Cal's wide receivers.
No. 22 /23 Stanford visits Cal on Saturday Oct. 20 for the 115th Big Game and the beginning of a six-game Pac-12 stretch for the Cardinal. The game kicks off at noon PT and is nationally broadcast on FOX.
