STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford synchronized swimming team will travel to Gainesville, Fla., this week to compete at the U.S. Collegiate Nationals. The event, held March 15-17, will take place at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center and be hosted by the University of Florida.
The Cardinal is coming off of a first-place finish at the Western Regionals in Tucson, Ariz., on March 4. Stanford registered 94.0 points, placing ahead of the University of Arizona (77.5 points) and Arizona State University (43.0 points).
More than 175 of the top athletes from the collegiate scene will vie for titles in the solo, duet, trio and team events. The Championships are an open-class meet, combining competition from NCAA Divisions I, II, and III and NAIA colleges and universities.
The solo, duet and trio semifinals will take place on Thursday, March 15 at 8:55 a.m. ET. The 'A', 'B', 'C' and 'D' technical competitions, as well as, the team semifinals will occur on Friday, March 16 starting at 8:05 a.m. ET. The event finals will be on Saturday, March 17, starting with the trio finals at 8:30 a.m. ET.
Following the Collegiate Nationals, Stanford will travel to Mesa, Ariz., for the U.S. National Championships, held Apr. 12-14.
