Stanford University Athletics today announced the launch of gostanford.com Phase II, which includes a virtual hall of fame, an enhanced facilities section, a revamped tickets page, and the introduction of Cardinal.Red.Football, the football program's fan affinity and recruiting site.
In addition, an official Stanford Athletics YouTube channel has also been implemented (www.youtube.com/stanfordathletics) in order to provide fans of Stanford Athletics the opportunity to view and comment on highlight videos, interviews with coaches and players, and other archived videos.
"Phase II of our redesign focuses on engaging the online visitor by providing enhanced video, imagery, and interactivity," said the Jaquish and Kenninger Director of Athletics Bob Bowlsby. "The new Cardinal.Red.Football site allows us to showcase the football program on a higher level from the caliber coaching staff and world-class facilities to our prestigious alumni and the pageantry and traditions of our program."
The Cardinal.Red.Football site (cardinalred.gostanford.com/football.html) was developed to create a connection for alumni and potential recruits, as well as to strengthen fan affinity by offering more dynamic and interactive content. Working collaboratively with the football program, the Cardinal.Red.Football site incorporates flash, movement, audio and video to deliver an enhanced and more intimate view of the program.
In the coming months, the Cardinal.Red framework will be used to build out other Stanford sport program sites.
The virtual hall of fame (gostanford.cstv.com/halloffame/) complements the Sydney and Theodore Rosenberg Stanford Athletics Hall of Fame Room, located at the Arrillaga Family Sports Center. It allows visitors to search by name or sport and will eventually include a brief profile and rich multimedia content on each of Stanford's Hall of Fame inductees.
Stanford Athletics' precinct includes 19 world-class facilities spread across more than 100 acres of land, as well as 30 acres of grounds through the main campus, and another 150 acres at the Stanford Golf Course. The new facilities section (gostanford.cstv.com/facilities/stan-facilities.html) provides a bird's eye view of Stanford Athletics' facilities utilizing Google Maps. In addition to being able to search for information by facility or by sport, photo slideshows have been incorporated to showcase Stanford Athletics' amenities.
The final enhancement of Phase II is the redesign of gostanford.com's tickets page (gostanford.cstv.com/tickets/tickets-body.html). Fans should find their ticket purchasing experience much easier with the redesigned navigation, which highlights Stanford's seven ticketed sports, as well as the popular Cardinal Fans Free program. Furthermore, ticket office information and special ticket promotions can be found on the new Tickets page.
