Stanford, Calif. - The 2005 Stanford women's gymnastics squad will hold its annual intrasquad scrimmage on Thursday, December 16th at 4:30 pm in the Ford Center. Cardinal gymnastics fans are welcome to come out and get an early look at the team.
The scrimmage is free to the public, and Stanford women's gymnastics season passes will be on sale for $20.00 at the meet. With the pass, Cardinal gymnastics fans can see all four home meets of the 2005 season, including Oregon State (January 28), Arizona State (February 25), and two home meets in the newly renovated Maples Pavilion against UCLA (February 18) and Alabama (March 6).
Head coach Kristen Smyth's team includes five returnees and six freshmen. Junior captains Natalie Foley and Jessica Louie will lead the squad, and the returning cast also includes junior Glyn Sweets and sophomores Brittany Billmaier and Stacy Sprando. Lauren Elmore, Stephanie Gentry, Alex Pintchouk, Aimee Precourt, Liz Tricase, and Tabitha Yim comprise one of the top rated freshman classes in the nation.
Stanford enters the season with the highest preseason ranking in program history, having been ranked No. 3 in the preseason coaches poll.
