Stanford to Take Donations to Benefit Hurricane Relief Effort

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford will be accepting donations toward relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Katrina at women's volleyball, men's soccer and football events. Boxes will be manned at venue entrances to collect public donations, which will go to the American Red Cross for the Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort. Donations will be accepted at the following home athletic events:

Women's Volleyball:
Stanford Invitational, September 15-17
September 23 vs. USC (7:00 pm)
September 24 vs. UCLA (7:00 pm)

Men's Soccer:
San Francisco-Bay Area Classic, September 18 (1:00 pm)
Stanford/Nike Invitational, September 23, 25

Football: September 17 vs. UC Davis (7:00 pm)

Stanford is opening the Stanford Golf Course to the public for the first time on September 19, donating all proceeds to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort. Tee times for the event have sold out, and an estimated $30,000 in aid is anticipated.
