2011 San Diego Crew Classic Schedule

STANFORD, Calif. - Fourth-ranked Stanford will send a full squad to the San Diego Crew Classic this weekend, competing in all four Pac-10 events at the two-day regatta.

"The Crew Classic is one of the great American regattas, and a sign that the spring racing season has arrived," said Stanford women's rowing coach Yasmin Farooq. "Mission Bay is a beautiful, but challenging venue, because tide and wind can come into play. It is also an outstanding opportunity to race six to seven boats across and get an early season look at the competition. The crowd is always outstanding, and from an organizational standpoint, it is truly first-rate. We're looking forward to some excellent competition in all of the NCAA and Pac-10 Championship events."

The entire Pac-10 Conference will be attending the regatta, including No. 8 Washington, No. 9 USC, No. 11 UCLA, and No. 13 Washington State and Oregon State. Stanford's I Eight, competing for the Jessop-Whittier Cup, will square off against Washington and No. 15 Wisconsin in the opening heat.
