Sophomore Arianna Lambie (Harvard, MA/The Bromfield School) of the Stanford Women's Cross Country Team was selected as the Stanford/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 15-Nov. 21.
Lambie led her team to a national championship at the NCAA Cross Country Championships yesterday in Terre Haute, IN. In a gutsy race, Lambie finished eighth individually with a time of 19:59.1. The Cardinal women claimed their third NCAA championship in school history and second in the last three years, scoring 146 points to runnerup Colorado's 181 points. Lambie also claimed individual victories at the Pac-10 and NCAA West Regional Championships earlier this season and was named the USA Track & Field Athlete of the Week on November 15.
This is Lambie's second Stanford/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor. She was also honored for the week of Sept. 27-Oct. 3.
