Stanford gymnast's Dylan Carney, Bryant Hadden and David Sender will head to Las Vegas, NV to compete in the Winter Cup on Thursday, February 8 (7:30pm). Juniors Jason Shen and Sho Nakamori were invited to take part as well, however they will be unable to attend due to injury.
Senior Dylan Carney, a two-time All-American, competed on the floor exercise, vault and high bar for the Cardinal in 2006. He was Crowned co-national champion on the high bar at the 2006 NCAA Individual Event Finals after posting a season-best score of 9.700. At the Stanford open earlier this season, Carney posted the highest score in the nation with a 9.95 on the high bar. He also recorded a season best on floor with a 9.55 at the 2007 Stanford Open.
Sophomore Bryant Hadden competed on the pommel horse, still rings, parallel bars and high bar in his first season on The Farm in 2006. He qualified for the 2006 NCAA Individual Event Finals on the still rings and helped Stanford to a third-place finish at the NCAA Team Final by placing tenth with a score of 9.30. He also tied for fifth on the still rings at the NCAA Qualifier with a score of 9.20. At the 2007 Stanford Open, Hadden posted a 42.75 in the All Around to finish second on the team and twelfth overall.
Junior David Sender, a four-time All-American for the Cardinal in 2006, was crowned national champion on the vault after scoring 9.562 at the NCAA Individual Event Finals. He also finished fifth on the still rings (9.412), sixth on the parallel bars (8.875) and fifth all-around with a total 54.125. Sender Helped Stanford to a third-place finish at the NCAA Team Final after placing sixth on the parallel bars with a career-best 9.350, ninth on the vault (9.325) and tying for fifth on the still rings (9.425). He has won both all around competitions this season, posting a 50.45 at Cal and a 53.40 in the Stanford Open.
