Lillian Bush Fifth, Ahimsa Hodari 13th at Mt. SAC Relays Heptathlon Championships

Walnut, Ca - Sophomore Lillian Bush resides in fifth place and freshman Ahimsa Hodari is in 13th place after the first day (Thursday) of the Mt. Sac Relay Heptathlon Championships.

Bush, after four events, has a total of 2,944 points while Hodari has 2,760 points. Jackie Poulson of Idaho State leads with 3,123 points.

Bush started the day with a 100 meter hurdle time of 14.20, the best time among the 28 heptathletes and good enough for 950 points. Bush then followed with a high jump effort of 4-11 3/4 (644 points), a 33-3 effort in the shot put (538 points) and a time of 25.83 in the 200 meters, good enough for 812 points.

Hodari began the day with a time of 15.45 in the 100 meter hurdles (783 points), a leap of 4-11 3/4 (644 points) in the high jump, followed by a 35-1 1/4 mark in the shot put (758 points) and a time of 26.45 (758 points) in the 200 meters.

The second and final day of competition on Friday will see activity in the long jump, javelin and 800 meters.
