Stanford Head Coach Mike Montgomery -
Opening Statement: I guess people got their money's worth tonight. That was a darned good basketball game. You have to give Oregon credit - they're a good basketball team. We could not stop them from scoring. Freddie Jones was spectacular. Every time they needed a clutch basket, they got it. Casey Jacobsen and Curtis Borchardt were on, Joe Kirchofer helped tremendously. Tony Giovacchini was clutch with the three pointer and the free throws at the end of the game. It was a tough game. I wanted to rest my guys, but I didn't get to do that. It was pleasing to see us step up late and make plays. This league is really tough and we've got to battle every bit.

How are you seeing this team develop this year?
We're trying to get everybody to buy into seeing that starting is not the main focus. We need to use our bench. Joe Kirchofer was a great example of that tonight, he really stepped up. We've got to keep plugging again.

About Tony's 3-pointer to send the game into overtime?
There was a lot of luck involved in that play, but Tony took the initiative to make the play. They were doubling up on Casey, but Tony had the presence of mind to shoot the ball.

Oregon Head Coach Ernie Kent -
Opening Statement: Unfortunately, this game was not televised but it was a heck of a basketball game. There were two outstanding teams in an amazing atmosphere. They had the ball last and made the last shot. We gave ourselves opportunities to win in regulation, but that was a great shot by Tony Giovacchini. We only had eight turnovers, this was a remarkable game for us. We are a good basketball team. All of our losses have come down to the last few possessions - we've never been blown out. Our focus now is to go to Cal and hopefully go home still atop the Pac-10. This is the best we've ever played down here ever. Unfortunately, we just didn't get the win.

Are you worried about bouncing back from this loss?
It was an overtime game. We'll bounce back. This is an energetic group of kids, they'll get some sleep and rest and they'll bounce back. They know they can rest all they need in April.
