Cardinal Lacrosse Places 14 on All-Academic Team

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford placed 14 players on the women's lacrosse Academic All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation team, as announced by conference commissioner Al Beaird on Monday. The total was most of any in the seven-team conference.

Since the MPSF began selecting All-Academic teams in 2004, 45 Stanford players have earned a total of 79 honors.

Seniors Jamie Nesbitt and Maris Perlman, and redshirt junior Bess Siegfried earned Academic All-MPSF honors for the third time. Eleanor Foote, Claire Hubbard, Dana Lindsay, Melissa Vogelsong, and Amanda Schwab were selected for the second time. Ashley Aruffo, Sarah Flynn, Leslie Foard, Karen Nesbitt, Annie Read and Maggie Sachs each received the honor for the first time.

The Academic All-MPSF teams are selected based on a formula: The player must have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.0, be at least a sophomore academically, have completed one full academic year at the same institution prior to the season, and must have played in at least 50 percent of the team's games.
