Stanford, Calif. - Stanford senior Claire Hubbard has been named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week following a three goal, four assist performance in a win over UC Davis. The honor comes days before the beginning of the MPSF Conference Tournament hosted by the University of Denver.
Hubbard led Stanford to a 17-14 win over UC Davis to clinch the No. 2 seed in the MPSF Tournament. Hubbard scored three goals and had four assists to lead and facilitate the Stanford attack. She extended her single-season and career Stanford records for assists with 35 on the season and 82 for her career.
The three goals give Hubbard 11 on the season to give Stanford nine players with double-figure goals this season. Hubbard ranks second in the conference and tied for sixth nationally with the 35 assists.
The Cardinal will begin its defense of the MPSF tournament title this Thursday, April 29, when it takes on Fresno State at noon, PST.
