Stanford, Calif. - Sarah Beeson doubled with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning of the nightcap to lift #9 Stanford (22-3) to a thrilling 2-1 victory in the second game of a doubleheader sweep over Santa Clara (2-17) in non-conference NCAA softball action on Sunday at the Stanford Softball Complex. The Cardinal runs its winning streak to six games.

Stanford won the opener, 5-0, as Dana Sorensen and Tori Nyberg combined for a two-hit shutout. Sorensen recorded the victory to improve to 11-3, while Nyberg picked up her third save of the season.
The nightcap had been tied 1-1 since the fourth inning. Santa Clara's Tracie Hall hit a solo home run for the visiting Broncos in the fourth for the team's only run of the day. Stanford had scored once in the bottom of the second on an RBI-ground out by Cassi Brangham.

Beeson (2-for-5, 2B, RBI) and Hall (2-for-4, HR, RBI) were the only players for either team with more than one hit.
In the opener, Beeson put the first Cardinal run on the board when her sacrifice fly scored Kellie Wiginton in the bottom of the first inning.
