Ahimsa Hodari - Ninth After Day One of U.S. Junior Heptathlon Championships

Berkeley, Ca - Ahimsa Hodari has tallied 2,750 points after one day of competition at the USA Junior Heptathlon National Championship at Cal's Edwards Stadium.

Hodari resides in ninth place among 15 competitiors. Julie Pickler of Texas Express leads with 3,261 points. Diana Pickler of Texas Express is close behind in second place with 3,249 points.

Hodari scored 819 points in the day's first event, the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.79. Hodari then added 610 points with a leap of 4-9 1/2 (1.49m) in the high jump. In the third event of the day, the shot put, Hodari gained 544 points with a throw of 33-6 (10.22m). The day's final event, the 200 meters, Hodari ran a 26.23 to pick up 777 points.

The second day of competition (long jump, javelin, 800 meters) will be contested on Wednesday.
