Eichenseer, finished fifth in the three-meter competition with a tally of 759.85 over the preliminaries and finals. His score of 383.40 was fourth-best after the preliminaries. BYU's Brandon Watson won the event with a score of 813.05, as seven men across the three events will represent the West at the NCAA Championships in late March.
Eichenseer's best dive came on his third and fifth dives. On his third attempt, a back 2 1/2 somersault pike, in which he tallied an 8.5, 8.0 and four 7.5's amongst the seven judges for 67.50 points. On the second to last dive, a forward 2 ½ somersault 1 twist pike, he had one 8.0 and three 7.5's.
In the women's one-meter, Hostage scored 574.40 points over the two rounds, bettering her preliminary finish by one, after scoring 273.70. USC's Victoria Ishimatsu won the event with 622.05 points, as the top six women across the three days will head to NCAAs starting on March 18. Stanford senior Carmen Stellar finished 10th with a score of 511.45, after a 245.15 score in the preliminaries.
Hostage's best dive was a reverse 1 ½ somersault pike, where she scored 52.80 points paced by three 7.5's from the five judges. Stellar's reverse 1 ½ somersault pike scored 49.20 points, her best of six dives.
The regional championships continue through Saturday.
