Stanford, Calif. - Top-ranked Stanford will head south this weekend for a pair of dual matches against 17th-ranked UCLA on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and fourth-ranked USC on Saturday at noon.
The Cardinal (7-0) has won 63-straight matches going into the weekend. So far this season, the Cardinal has swept doubles in all seven matches and has only allowed two points, out-scoring opponents 41-2 this season.
UCLA, 4-1 on the season, lost a 4-3 match to then-No. 25 Pepperdine last Saturday. The Bruins dropped the doubles point, although un-ranked Laura Gordon and Riza Zalameda defeated 22nd-ranked Sylvia Kosakowski and Merve Asimgil, 8-5 at the No. 1 spot. But the Waves secured wins at No. 1, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to upset the then-No. 15 Bruins.
USC picked up its fourth win of the season at No. 54 San Diego State on Wednesday with a 7-0 shutout, including a doubles sweep. The Trojans have also defeated UC Irvine, Long Beach State and San Diego this season for a 4-0 record.
